Air Mail Societies

• The International Federation of Aero-Philatelic Societies (FISA) is the international representative of the interests of the Aerophilatelic and Astrophilatelic community.
• The American Air Mail Society is the world's largest, and second oldest aerophilatelic society. They are publishers of the American Air Mail Catalogue, the monthly Airpost Journal, and many other aerophilatelic publications. The Society provides many services to aerophilatelists.
• The Metropolitan Air Post Society covers air post history, and the development of aviation, airlines and air mail services. It is a chapter of the AAMS.
• The Canadian Aerophilatelic Society has a journal, The Canadian Aerophilatelist.
• The Irish Airmail Society has the objective of studying Irish Airmails in all its aspects.
• The Air Mail Society of New Zealand has a monthly newsletter, regular auctions and has published a series of handbooks on airmail postal history. They have a page showing some interesting airmail covers.
• The Australian Airmail Society publishes the The Australian Aerophilatelist.
• The Zeppelin Study Group is the largest international society for zeppelin mail and airship memorabilia collectors.
• The De Vliegende Hollander is the website of the Netherlands Air Mail Society.
• The Der Internationale Aero-Philatelisten Club publishes Die Luftpost four times a year.

Other Philatelic Societies

• The Royal Philatelic Society London is the oldest philatelic society in the world.
• The Fédération Internationale de Philatélie (FIP) represents 90 national federations. They have regulations for the evaluation of competitive exhibitions which are followed by the British Air Mail Society. The following links are to their regulations for different kinds of entry:

• The National Philatelic Society is one of the largest general philatelic societies in Great Britain whose members are drawn from throughout the UK and Overseas. They have an extensive philatelic library that has an online search facility.
• The American Philatelic Society is the main philatelic society in the USA.
• The New Zealand Society of Great Britain promotes the study of the stamps and postal history of New Zealand and its Dependencies.
• The Malaya Study Group promotes the study of the stamps and postal history of the States of Malaya.
• The British Postmark Society exists to promote and to co-ordinate the study and collection of British postal markings, particularly of the 20th and 21st centuries.
• The British Thematic Association has the objective: "to promote, encourage and assist the development of Thematic Philately".
• The Modern British Philatelic Circle covers all aspects of modern GB philately dealing with all stamps and related material issued since the beginning of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II.
• The Scottish Postal History Society studies Scottish Postal History in all its aspects, from the earliest times to the present day.
• The objects of the Postal History Society are the promotion and encouragement of the study of postal communications, local, national and international.
• The West Africa Study Circle is the international specialist society for the study of stamps, postal stationery and postal history of West Africa.
• The Royal Philatelic Society of New Zealand publishes a journal and has an annual auction. Their website contains information on their extensive publications on New Zealand stamps and postal history.

• The New Zealand Stamp Images has a lot of information on air mail history up to the end of World War II.
• Airline Timetable Images has images of airline timetables, including many pre WWII.
• Site on PanAm trans-Pacific Flights in the early years of WWII with lots of covers.
• Catapult Mail from the Bremen and the Europa.
• Images and information on New Zealand international flights and airmail covers .
• The Aerogramme website is dedicated to the study and enjoyment of world-wide Aerogrammes (Aerograms), Air Letter Sheets and the equivalent.

• The British Postal Museum and Archive includes the Royal Mail Archive which contains more than 2.5 miles of shelving containg many original documents.

Finding a Society

• The Association of British Philatelic Societies and the Association of Scottish Philatelic Societies have links to British and Scottish local societies respectively. They both have links to specialist societies.
